Why repairs go wrong

On a Samsung, the obvious diagnosis is usually wrong

The most common Samsung call is a fridge that is warm while the freezer is still cold. It looks like a dying compressor. Behind the freezer's rear panel, it is almost always a coil buried in frost: a defrost heater, sensor or fuse stopped the defrost cycle, and the frost choked off the air that feeds the fridge.

Replacing a compressor for a frosted coil is a four-figure mistake. Our technicians test the defrost circuit, the fans and the inverter board first, and only then talk about the sealed system.

How it works

From your call to a cold refrigerator

  1. Request

Call or send the form. Tell us what the fridge is doing and the code on the panel, if any.

  2. Arrival window

A dispatcher calls back and gives you a window — same-day for most morning calls.

  3. Diagnosis

The technician tests the parts, not guesses. You get one price for the repair before any work.

  4. Repair

Most common parts are on the van. 90-day warranty on parts and labor; the $89 visit is credited.

Questions people ask

How much does Samsung refrigerator repair cost?

The diagnostic visit is $89, and it is credited toward the repair if you go ahead. After testing, the technician gives you one price for the whole repair — parts and labor — before any work starts. Sensor, fan and defrost repairs are the inexpensive end; sealed-system and compressor work is the expensive end, and we tell you plainly when a repair is not worth it on an older unit.

Do you come to my home?

Yes. Every repair is done in your kitchen. The technician carries the most common Samsung parts — fan motors, defrost heaters and sensors, ice makers, water valves — so many repairs finish on the first visit.

How fast can a technician come?

Same-day for most calls that reach us before noon, otherwise next-day. We work Mon–Sat 8 AM – 8 PM. You can send the request form any time and a dispatcher calls you back during business hours.

What warranty do I get?

The parts we installed and the work we did, for 90 days from the repair date. If the same problem comes back in that time, we come back at no charge.

Are you Samsung?

No. We are an independent repair service that works on Samsung refrigerators every day. If your unit is still under the Samsung factory warranty, call Samsung first — the repair may be free through them.

My fridge is warm but the freezer is cold. Is it the compressor?

Almost never. On Samsung French door refrigerators that pattern usually means the evaporator coil in the freezer has iced over from a defrost-system fault, or the fridge fan has stopped. Both are far cheaper than a compressor.
